While on a forced vacation, I was able to go (or rely) a few great games. Kuon (the best horror in the world), Fatal Frame (the best horror in the world), Anima: Gate of Memories (Best Computer Anima in the World), Mario Royale (Best Mario Royal in the World) and others). And today I decided to tell about a strange thing named Bujingai The Forsaken City.
A game was released in 2003 (Japan), 2004 (North America) and 2005 (Europe) years exclusively for PlayStation 2. Two companies took part in the development: Taito (Bubble Bobble, Hāfu-Raifu 2 Sabaibā and a bunch of other games) and Red Entertainment (N.U.D.E.@ Natural Ultimate Digital Experiment, Tsunde Tsumi Kiss and a bunch of other games). Surprisingly, the project received only 72 points from journalists and 7.7 from players on Methacritic. Moreover, since he left the shelves of stores, the project has sunk into oblivion. Now almost no one remembers it, and the glimpse of modern players does not even understand what could be good in this old action movie.
Nigire Tsutsu!!
The game takes place. During the plot, the hero kills monsters, saves, reaches the nyashka and defeats the main boss. Nyashka is naked. In general, we have so typical of Chinese b-movie showdowns due to women that the developers say, as it were, saying: “Dude and ladies, you have already seen the like three hundred times, so we can be blocked?!". But there are additional materials that open for coins collected at levels.
The only thing Bujingai stands out against the background of competitors is the main character. He was written off from a Japanese musician and actor named Gaskt. Who is it – I have no idea, but the fans seem to like. I have nothing more to say, listen to music.
But for some reason the music in the game itself is not very good, so I played under the soundtrack from Metal Gear Riding or for the songs of Maximum The Hormone.

In general, Bujingai is almost the first attempt by the studio to work in a new genre, and it is felt. The first chapter of seven generally looks like a test level. Before the player – the road covered with gray asphalt. On the sides – gray boxes symbolizing high -rise buildings. The goal is the gray door at the end of the level. Obstacles – gray monsters and multi -colored "boss" at the end. Diversity – a pair of "corridor" turns and sewage system, if it was it. And so – twenty -five minutes. Fifteen, if you watched a training video.
Teaching in the game is represented https://sportsbettingmedia.co.uk/latest-news/zero-risk-betting-strategy by a pair of bored videos of a quarter of the game.
Apparently playing what happened, the Japanese craftsmen decided to change something. Therefore, the second chapter transfers the hero to the bamboo forest. Not very plot turns are added to plot turns, and the location is a little like a maze. Several types of new types are added to standard monsters, and the “boss” pleasantly surprises. And now the door is now not one, but a few, and they open in different ways, albeit spinning from additional "challenges" in some other slasher.
But the main advantage of the bamboo forest – it was there that the developers realized that it is cool to turn on the imagination. In further levels, new enemies are constantly found, mini-bosses begin to appear (some would not have hidden behind every angle, it would be very good), the environment suddenly becomes beautiful, the main tasks are supplemented by interesting modifiers (either to run away from the avalanche, then to fight with magical flying mirrors), something from all this is trying to look like a mystery to all the above Platforming fully work.
The significant minus is only one. The interrupted love, or watermelon crust, is to blame for this, but no one screwed the logic in the change of locations. From the sandy temple we travel to the snow -covered mountains, from there through an unknown alien something in the lava caves, and there, even to the hand -to -heavenly city, is a stone’s throw. Due to such sharp changes in the scenery, goosebumps at the tip delivered some discomfort to the final itself.
Platforming is the most ambiguous component of Bujingai. On the one hand, it looks cool. The hero can run along the walls almost like a bald one of Prototype, jump high and “fly” as a true Chinese, run along the walls as a prince of Persia, as well as to do other outrages. At the end of the game, they will even show a cool way to jump over long distances, which I do not want to mention now. Just because he himself was stupid for five minutes, he could not decide, but still tried, joyfully purred the cherished “eopt, well, fuck!". I remembered even jumping on missiles from Metal Gear Rising.
The ambiguity is that you can not always control all this beauty. Often it is possible to jump from one wall ten times to the other, in Chinese to fly a couple of meters, run along the steep wall, and cut an inattentive enemy during the landing. At such moments, I loved this game. But sometimes the hero jumps, does not guess with the direction, and falls from the roof on which the previous five minutes. To jump once again, grunting again, like a cat from an old video prison, and climb back for another five minutes.
This is especially noticeable at the final level, which is almost completely necessary to overcome through the air. There is a place there, with a series of five or six jumps in different directions, where I used more saving emulator than the whole game before that. No, the fall is not fatal. Just got sick each time to climb back to the starting point.
And not all because the moment is difficult. Just a hero can jump out of the wrong way, may not jump at all, but can be exhausted, swollen and, having fled, jump from a cliff under the influence of a surging depression. And the camera also likes to suddenly make a sharp turn to the left or right. As a result, the process took me twenty minutes or more than fifty attempts. Although, I have to admit, there is a serious suspicion that the problems with the node for the hero and the camera are caused by emulation.
USUGIMI BILLY
But the main thing is for what to try the game is fights. At first glance, this is a very fast two -button slasher. The first two levels are enough to hammer a square of fast strokes, periodically pressing a triangle of enhanced attacks and a circle of use of magic. Turn off your brains, take an ax, rubbish hardcore. The enemies are dumbfounded, the hero is rapidly rushing to the “boss” to kill the enemy and again rush to relatively harmless blanks. But over time, everything becomes not so simple.
As I said three sentences back, in addition to ordinary strokes, the hero has magical abilities. Fire ball, “jerk”, magic tornado, attack with arrogant arrows, protective field, flying daggers – only part of the available skills. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages, so you have to choose what is better approached a certain situation. Although, first of all, the main character is a fencer, so sometimes it is better not to use magic at all.
Cherry on the Bujingai Military Cake system "Fights". The protagonist has several studies near the portrait that allow you to block the blows of opponents, including the "bosses". The only restriction is that we are not playing for Lipris Trubetskoy, and the front of the protagonist is not iron. You can only block what flies in the face, so in the battle with several opponents it is easy to make a mistake and skip a whole combination of shocks.
The "fight" mode begins if you press the attack button in time. Simple monsters the hero almost without the participation of the player will crumble on pieces with quick and powerful blows. But enemies can do a similar focus. Fights with them turn into a real dance, with blocks, evasions, counterattacks and feints. It looks and really cool. As if you were watching a Chinese action movie, where you were allowed to indicate one of the characters what to do. It is not difficult to study the system, but the “bosses” did not want to give up to the last earlier than they would take a couple of tense “restarts” from me. By the way, you can beat off not only blows, but also spells, which adds a couple of interesting opportunities to existing.
The only drawback is that the game is completely inappropriate to the battles in the air. Sometimes it turns out to conduct a couple of beautiful attacks, but at the same time you can’t have a camera and you can’t jump (the jump button turns into a button), so you have to attack the flyers blindly. Fortunately, there are such moments infrequently, and the only flying “boss” is periodically landing, and it can be kicked on earth.
So, let’s summarize. There is no sane script in the game so that even the connection between the levels does not explain. Opened the teleport – go, kill, do not ask unnecessary questions. The lousy beginning is trying to persuade to play something else. Some enemies are too common, and get tired closer to the finale. In some places, uncomfortable platforming constructed the developers, or an emulator.
On the other hand-a variety of levels, beautiful jumps, and well-set battles. You will have to spend about 4-6 hours on the passage of Bujingai, and you usually do not have to get bored at this time. Before us is a simple, but well -set action movie, in which the main thing is the action. Therefore, if you love (or in childhood loved) science fiction, where flying Chinese beat each other’s faces with swords – the master invites you to visit. If this does not like it, it is better to pass by. The game simply cannot offer anything interesting. That’s all, thanks for your attention, good day!
And what is the best – pictures in a groom in a gallery, or one at a time, as I had before?
